~ Sprouting Wealth ~

In a large bowl place ? cup dry mung beans. Rinse them thoroughly and let stand in 4 cups cool water overnight. As you rinse them chant: Awaken life; embolden seed; bring me wealth with this deed. The following morning, draw wealth and luck symbols on a large wide-mouthed mason jar with permanent marker. Rinse the beans and place them inside. Secure a cheesecloth over the opening with a strong rubber band and replace the ring only. Rinse the beans every day, repeating the chant. Tilt the jar over a large bowl to drain excess water after rinsing and place on a sunny kitchen table. Sprouts can be grown year-round and jars can be specially decorated to cultivate different intentions. They make a nutritious addition to sandwiches and salads and keep a constant life cycle rejuvenating in the home, which helps immensely in attracting luck and wealth. Enjoy!

~ Lobelia Cut ~

[b]Said to symbolize malevolence and ill will within the Victorian era, Lobelia has since become a commonly cultivated ornamental plant, widely found in flower beds, large pots, window boxes and hanging baskets. Among Native Americans, it was used to treat respiratory and muscle disorders, as well as a purgative. These uses spread among American physicians of the 19th century, who primarily used it to induce vomiting. These uses left Lobelia referred to in some texts and among some herbal circles as somewhat more unsavory sounding names, such as Asthma Weed, Indian Tobacco, Pukeweed and Vomitweed. Modern herbalists find Lobelia useful in treating food poisoining, using the herb to induce vomiting. It also saw brief uses in a smoking cessation program as a replacement for nicotine. It is also used as a physical relaxant and a nerve depressant, easing tension and sensations of panic. This combined with its antispasmodic and expectorant qualities, are what make it a common treatmen t for asthma among herbalists.

We can feel the excitement as the impetuous Aries Moon encourages us to take risks and express our feelings, but there is also an opposing current as the Moon's energy wanes. It seems as if we cannot initiate action while we are heading toward tomorrow's New Moon. Meanwhile logical Mercury forms an illogical septile with opinionated Jupiter to lure us away from the facts. We must be extra careful now because we can talk ourselves into nearly anything.
